RE: Locking down propane tanks

Looks like a good idea. How often have the propane bottles been stolen. I haven't lost one in 30 years. vanman250

RE: Williamsburg VA - Bush Gardens with the dog

When in the Williamsburg area, We always stay at American Heritage. Nice campsite and friendly staff. Have gone to Busch Gardens last year. As we travel with our dog, we boarded him at the kennel at Busch Gardens. Going back occasionally to walk him. Park at the kennel. Next to the kennel is a pedestrian bridge that takes you to the main gate. Not a far walk. Lots to see in the area. You will have a nice time. The Busch Gardens says first come first serve. Is it hard to get your dog in. I have visions of getting there early waiting in line hoping I can get a spot for the dog so we can go to the park. I noticed I left the C out of Busch. vanman250

RE: Jayco sofa coming apart

I have not had any problems with mine but have had people stop me at campgrounds and ask me if I was having this problem. I would guess this is a wide spread fabric problem. vanman250

Williamsburg VA - Bush Gardens with the dog

We are thinking about going to Williamsburg next summer and since our dog sitter is gone we were going to take him with us. We were thinking about staying at American Heritage RV Park. We plan on taking our dog and most days wouldn't be a problem but the days we are at Bush Gardens will be long days so I would like to take him to a local kennel or doggy day care those days. If they have anything like that in the area. Is it hard to get reservation at the RV parks there in the summer? ow far in advance should we make our reservations. vanman250

RE: Cell phone in blackwater tank, OOPS!

I've dropped just about everything in the toilet, the worst was when I went into a public bathroom that had one toilet and it was clogged and almost over flowing. I had to go #1 real bad so I went for it and while doing so I dropped my car key in the toilet. I was in the middle of nowhere and nobody was around. I looked everywhere for something to dig around in there to fined my keys but couldn't find anything. I ended up sticking my hand in to retrieve my keys. I went to the sink an of course it didn't work. I removed the cover off the tank and washed my hands in there. So I know how bad it stinks when things like this happen. vanman250

RE: GM's 1500 truck w/4.3 V6 as a tow vehicle

Although it should do just fine towing there are few things to consider. If you want to go larger in the next few years you are stuck. When towing you will get worse mileage then having the V8, not towing you will get at best 2 mpg better. The deal on truck are pretty good right now if you shop around you can get the smaller V8 for about the same price and you'll be happier. vanman250

RE: equalizer brand hitch

I have the equlizer hitch and have 36,000 miles on mine with no problems. L bracket, put a bolt and nut thru the top hole in the L bracket and if it does come loose it will not fall thru and you won't lose it on the road. That's a good idea. I have only 2000 miles on mine and the L bracket and pins are pretty worn. I won't be able to tow another 2000 without replacing them. The manufacturer said this is normal. Has anyone towed on slippery roads with this hitch? The way mine grabs when turning I think I would have trouble. vanman250 are you lubing the pivot point per the instuctions? Yes

RE: equalizer brand hitch

I'm going to try the loc-tite and see if that works. I think I'll draw a line on it with paint so I can check it visually. I guess nobody had the L bracket drop out. With the small amount of bolt that holds it in place it just doesn't seem very reliable. vanman250

RE: GM Integrated Brake Controllers

I don't have any personal experience with it. I tried to get that as option but couldn't find one with it plus the other things I wanted. I did hear there was some type of issue with them that had to do with programming and some people ended up installing and after market controller. That I would guess was something from when they first came out and would think that has been corrected but I would keep your old one just to be safe. vanman250

RE: equalizer brand hitch

although the equalizer works I have been disappointed in it over all. The few threads that hold the L bracket if weak at best. Most of the time I have to use a hammer to break the L pins loose they bind in the holes. The L pin are very beat up for the little bit of towing I have done. It looks like i will have to replace the pins every year or so. The way the it bind when turning I would be afraid to tow with it on slippery roads. I talked to the manufacturer and was told they never heard of the bolts coming loose and the rest is normal. I thought about buying the dual cam system but I'm afraid it won't be any better. My old weight distribution system with the friction sway control worked fine and shouldn't have gotten rid of it. I will say the sway control of the equalizer works going down the highway but other wise it's not so good. Sorry for going off on a rampage but I now don't think I alone as far as problems with this system. vanman250

RE: Cell phone in blackwater tank, OOPS!

What you need to do is tilt the trailer over as far you can without it tipping and sake the******out of until it plops out. Vanamn250

RE: equalizer brand hitch

If you are talking about the the single bolt that hold the L bracket then you are the only one that happens to according to the manufacturer. So what they suggested is one try using a upper hole and removing a washer from the tilt or two put lock tite on the threads. Three tighten at every stop. vanman250

RE: Cell phone in blackwater tank, OOPS!

I curious how long people will keep posting ideas on how you can get it out. So while I'm at it. You could get someone with a small arm and hand to reach down there feel around and grab it. Oh ya tell them if it's soft it's not the phone. vanman250

RE: Indiana State Parks-Another State to Bypass !

Hey lets stop this talk about Indiana not being so bad. If this gets out it might get harder then it already is to get reservations in these run down over priced parks. vanman250

RE: Gulf Shores State Park

I stayed at Luxury RV and thought it was great. It offered everything I wanted and the staff was great. I've looked around at the RV parks in Gulf Shores and with the exception of a few they were all nice. It just depends on what you are looking for. The state park was nice but would be my last choice of the places to stay. Getting a site in Gulf shores will be difficult that time of the year because of the snowbirds. I wouldn't not go just because you might not be in the best site or best RV park based on others opinions. Get in where you can and check out the other places then next time you will know what fits your taste the best. You are going to enjoy it no matter where you stay. vanman250

RE: I'm bummed........

GM has made it almost inpossalbe to figre out what package has what. I'm sure it was am honest mistake. I have the dark interor and it collects and shows everything. I can't keep it clean and looking nice so I was thinking aboout seat covers, as for the carpet I to wanted carpet which I have and I have the factorey floor mats which are great they cover just about all my carpet so it stays clean after all I wouldn't want my carpet dirty. If it has everything you want but those two items which now I think would be a plus not to have I would go for it. As you are finding out the inventory is pretty picked over at this point so finding exactly what you want is getting harder. They down getting down to odd lots, the things that people don't want. If you wait you might be paying more to get what you want since inventory's are down to a manageable number and production has been cut so they can meet the currant demand and make a profit. vanman250
